THE MONDAY LEADOFF
Hi my friend 🫡
I recently read that attention is the key to accessing one's full potential. Here are seven additional thoughts on the power of attention:
- The power of attention is the measure of your inner force.
- Your attention must be developed, controlled, and concentrated in order to change your future.
- When you attain control of the internal direction of your attention, you will no longer stand in shallow water but will launch out into the deep of life.
- A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
- Attention has the power to change your whole reality.
- Energy flows where attention goes.
- Visualization is effective, but ineffective if there's an inability to sustain attention.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES:

When things don't go as planned, ask yourself: How does this serve me?

Uncertainty and the prospect of failure can be very scary noises in the shadows. Most people will choose unhappiness over uncertainty.

Ask yourself: Does the attention you give to something truly reflect its true importance?
WHAT'S BEEN WORKING
1.
No phone
I've been leaving my phone off for designated stints. This guardrail has enabled me to be more present, more productive, more attentive, and a better conversationalist. I'm working on a system to implement powering down daily, stay tuned.
2.
This allows me to quickly utilize ChatGPT for anything. It’s faster than going to a separate new tab for Google.
(Note: As much as I like to utilize AI tools, zero percent of this newsletter is ever written by AI)
3.
Book Club/Mastermind
Over the past 14 months, I've been part of a motivated group of high achievers. We do a Zoom book study. It's great to have accountability, share a common bond, and focus on personal development in a group setting. If you've ever considered starting a book club, I encourage you to go for it.
QUOTE I'M PONDERING
“It isn’t what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.”
— Dale Carnegie
Nothing but the best,

P.S. I will include my favorite techniques to train attention in a future edition of The Monday Leadoff. I'd love to know: what do you do to boost/strengthen your attention or that of your team? You can respond directly to this email.
