Faith | Problems | Moment v. Decade

THE MONDAY LEADOFF

Hi my friend

“You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end — which you can never afford to lose — with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.” -Admiral Stockdale

Have you ever heard of the term rational optimism? I hadn't until recently; it suggests that being too optimistic is a surefire way to get burned. Imagine driving towards the edge of a cliff knowing your brakes are out, saying, "It will all work out for the best!" It's important to always have faith, but it must be coupled with intelligence.

Problems are part of life. Defining problems helps with navigating bottlenecks. Preparing for and thinking about current and future problems serves our teams. I'd encourage you to pause right now and think of the top problem/challenge that your team is facing. Define the problem. Then, start to work on the solution with your leadership team.

Next figure out what you are doing that is producing the top results. Then, do that as much as possible.

WHAT'S BEEN WORKING

1.

Loom

This screen recording software is top-notch. It's a great way to share information and it's easy to use. It's best used for explaining ideas, email integration, visual representation, sub plans (if you're a teacher), communicating personalized information to athletes, and video/skill feedback.

QUOTE I'M PONDERING

"We're not going to talk about what we're going to accomplish. We're going to talk about how we're going to do it." -Nick Saban
