THE MONDAY LEADOFF

Hi my friend

I emptied the tank. I poured my soul into everything I did. Not everything will work out. But when you empty the tank you have no regrets.” -Jesse Itzler

Since forever, I've heard coaches say, "Trust the process." I recently heard it framed differently; focus solely on high-leverage inputs. The goal is to work as hard as you possibly can. But it has to be in the right direction. Hard work in the wrong direction, quickly takes us away from where we want to go. Take the time to know the high-leverage activities that yield the maximum results. Then, empty the tank every day focusing on those activities.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

(Credit: Alex Hormozi)

Break everything down into behaviors. Anytime you read a book or listen to a podcast ask yourself, "What behavior am I going to change as a result of this?"

My advice to leaders: Stop trying to please everyone and do what you believe is best.

WHAT'S BEEN WORKING

1.

X (Twitter)

Lately, I've gleaned some great pearls of wisdom from Twitter. For example, this Nick Saban story. "When you get in critical situations in games don't think of plays, think of players."

QUOTE I'M PONDERING

“There is a saying that if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life. At Apple, I learned that is a total crock. Rather, when you find a job you are passionate about, you will work hard, but you won’t mind doing so... You will work harder than you ever thought possible, but the tools will feel light in your hands.” -Tim Cook

Nothing but the best,

Matt

P.S. Here's your reason to exercise today: neuroplasticity.
