How well do you really listen as a coach?

Even though coaches are usually well trained in the art of listening, it can still be so easy to slip into habits and patterns that can get in the way of true listening. Have you ever noticed yourself doing any of these things?

•Agreeing with your client

•Making an assumption

•Jumping to a conclusion

•Interpreting what something means for your client

•Getting caught up in all the detail of your client's story/situation

These are all indicators that something is getting in the way of your listening, and this will ultimately affect the quality of your coaching sessions.
