[Whatchamacallit] The many faces of storytelling
Jul 23, 2025 12:58 pm
Hi, ,
"We are all storytellers. We all live in a network of stories. There isn't a stronger connection between people than storytelling." ~ Jimmy Neil Smith
I read this week that Scholastic is moving away from their tradition of print books towards multimedia formats in order to meet the changing needs of their audience. It seems that most children would rather watch a video than read a physical book these days. 🥺
This may be sad for some of us, but it doesn't mean storytelling is going away. It's just evolving. Storytelling is such an important part of our human experience, and it always will be.
Today, let's discuss what this trend towards multimedia storytelling means for indie authors.
The Wednesday Writers Whatchamacallit will meet today starting at 12 PM Eastern, 11 AM Central, 10 AM Mountain and 9 AM Pacific. Hope to see you there.
