Do you remember watching Star Trek as a kid and thinking how completely unbelievable things like the tricorder and the data pad were? Yes, I AM a geek. :P Back then, I couldn't even imagine how someone could have a portable little device that allowed them to take all their reading material on the go with them. That was just crazy!

I was really scratching my head when I saw my first commercial for the Amazon Kindle in 2007. I honestly couldn't understand how this thing could possibly work. Later the iPad came along, and I was pretty convinced the creator of Star Trek must have been able to predict the future. I began eagerly awaiting the invention of the food replicator. Sadly, I'm still waiting. :(
