A gentler way to begin the new year
Dec 30, 2025 1:03 pm
Hi ,
Around this time every year, the promises start showing up. See if any of these sound familiar.
"I'm finally going to lose that extra weight."
"I'm going to double my income this year."
"This time, I'm really going to get my home organized."
"I'm going to be better. Do more. Try harder..."
Sometimes we hear these from friends or colleagues.
Sometimes they come straight out of our own mouths. 🫢
Wanting to grow is natural and healthy. We are coaches after all.
The trouble begins when we make promises to ourselves that we know aren’t likely to happen. Not because we don’t care or aren’t capable—but because life is just darn unpredictable sometimes.
So instead of writing up another long list of “shoulds,” here’s a different invitation.
🤍Pause.
🤍Breathe.
🤍Take a little time to reflect.
You might start with questions like these:
- What have I actually accomplished this past year?
- What worked well—and what didn’t?
- What feels important to me now?
- What is it time to release?
If you’re in the mood for some deeper reflection this week, I’d love to offer you a copy of my Reflect and Reset for Success workbook.
There’s no cost, no catch, and no opt-in required.
You can download it here:

However you approach this week, I hope you’ll carve out a little space for yourself and set intentions that feel grounding and not heavy as you step into 2026.
Wishing you truly meaningful new beginnings,
Nikki
PS. If you do this reflection, I’d genuinely love to hear what you discover.
