This talk is aimed at parents of pre-schoolers, and any early childhood educators or SNAs who work in a preschool setting.


What is the topic?

Otitis media causes a build up of fluid in the middle ear. This fluid build up is sometimes associated with redness, swelling and ear pain in young children. Anyone can develop a middle ear infection however infants between between 18 months and 5 years of age are most at risk.


Anyone can develop a middle ear infection but infants between 6 and 15 months old are most commonly affected.


This talk covers what signs to watch out for in your child, it's impact on speech and language development, and what treatments are usually recommended.
