Your Education Nation Account has gone to a better place! - CATTS Courses!

Jul 14, 2021 7:19 pm

Hi,

I hope you are having as good a rest as is possible this summer.

You are receiving this email because you, or your school have an account on our Schools CPD portal Education Nation. (Current link here: www.educationnation.ie)

Based on suggestions and feedback from users, we are moving all users and courses off our Education Nation portal (which will be closing), and onto our parent site at www.cattscourses.com

You will be able to access this right away using your existing username and password. (If you have forgotten it, just enter the email address this update message was sent to and click ‘forgot password’!).

All your course access and achievements from the current Education Nation system are been ported over so no one looses their achievements. :)

Once you log in, you will immediately see all the courses you have access to, and you can just work away as before!

If you are an administrator for your school, you will have a more intuitive dashboard system which you can access with your current username and password here:  https://cattscourses.com/groups-dashboard/

Each school will keep their subscription price as per Education Nation for as long as they remain a subscriber, so don’t worry about the new pricing.

This new control panel will allow you as group admin to add co-administrators, create sub groups within your school account, e.g. for volunteers, sub teachers etc. It also gives you at a glance view of who has been using courses or not.

It also is intended to allow a big request - in that a teacher can share the course catalogue access with a parent who they feel may need to view some of the content. As such, I’ve doubled at no extra charge your school's seat limit to allow that.

Full details of how to manage your group or school can be found here:

https://cattscourses.com/how-to-manage-your-group-or-school/

The teacher can also of course check if the parent has actually done their ‘homework’, or not – the leading a horse to water analogy is true in many cases, but there are a lot of instances where a family just needs to know the right direction to work in, and they’re off.  We are hoping that this will solve one of the biggest issues we come across in our online SLT clinical practice where parents and teachers can’t always share knowledge to help the kids.

I’d love your feedback on how this works out, and if there are any items which you feel could benefit parents of your SEN pupils more.

(I also expect that there will be a need for some new courses from teachers to help inform what parents of SN kids could do at home to help them with their education, so if you have an idea for something that can be added, and are not camera shy please pass get in touch with us! We record online, so you can do it from home - and although you won’t be able to retire and buy a yacht, it is paid).

Sorry for the information drop, and feel free to flag this email for future reference until you need it.

Wishing you a lovely summer!

Joe
