So this happened at last!
Took me long enough, I know.
Anyway, I'm proud to announce that the Kickstarter for SILENCE: Untold Tales of Algernon Blackwood's Psychic Doctor vols 1 & 2 is now live. It's coupled with an exclusive kickstarter edition of No. 472 Cheyne Walk: Carnacki, the Untold Stories, which will only be available to backers, albeit I will have a few copies to sell at UK conventions (and mail order, but only within the UK I'm afraid).
The Kickstarter runs until Mon, April 20 2026 1:00 PM BST, which isn't long, so get it while you can.
A Cathaven Press edition, with a different cover, will be published once the Kickstarter copies have been sent out. The hardcover of Carnacki is set to be a collectable rarity.
Some of you may be wondering why you got this mailing. I've added people who are involved in upcoming projects, or who enquired about when they could send submissions for OCCULT DETECTIVE MAGAZINE. This mailing list is the easiest way for you to find out, as we'll post about it as soon as we open.
OTHER PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION
We're very close to launching a new collection of stories by ODM co-editor John Linwood Grant. I'm particularly pleased to have the opportunity to publish MISS LINWOOD ENTERTAINS, as John is one of the best writers I know, and he refuses to include any of his own stories in OCCULT DETECTIVE MAGAZINE, for ethical reasons, which is admirable I suppose. Here's the cover reveal.
We are also very happy to announce that we have many of John Linwood Grant's books from other publishers available at conventions in the UK, and mail order (UK only). Simply write to [email protected] for details. We're pleased to say that we can undercut Amazon prices for all of them, as follows...
Collections of John's stories.
Ain't No Witch £12.00
An Unkindness of Shadows £12.00
Anthologies edited by John.
The Book of Carnacki £17.00
Sherlock Holmes and the Occult Detectives Vols I - IV £17.00 each, or all four for £65.00
Alone on the Borderland £17.00
A Darker Continent £17.00
Obviously mail order will have postage added, but we should still be able to match Amazon prices if not beat them.
Also coming very soon is AMOS JELKIE, GHOST HUNTER.
Readers of OCCULT DETECTIVE MAGAZINE #11 will have read the Cold Cases article by Roy Bayfield on this forgotten character, who he happened to come across, while researching.
I've manage to not only compile the entirity of Jelkie's published adventures in The Halfpenny Marvel, but I.A. Watson* agreed to compile a bible/timeline for the character going forward, and provided us with four new tales to round out the volume.
*Author of the wonderful Vinnie de Soth, Jobbing Occultist series, which we have been priveleged to include in OCCULT DETECTIVE MAGAZINE.
Not too long after that we hope to have OCCULT DETECTIVE MAGAZINE #12 out.
