“And he said to them, 'Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation” - Mark 16:15
For those of us who grew up in church, or have become comfortable in faith, I think there’s a reality about heaven that we often overlook, and it’s this: everyone there is already saved. No one in heaven needs to be told the gospel, no one is waiting to hear about Jesus for the first time. The mission—the invitation, the reaching, the sharing—exists solely for us to carry out here, now, during our time on earth. Earth, is the only place where the kingdom of God can still expand.
We often think of heaven as the goal, and in many ways of course it is, but in a way, being here means we’re still standing on this of heaven for a reason. We are surrounded by people who don’t yet know the hope, grace, and life found in Jesus. And for a very limited time, we have the opportunity to be part of God’s rescue mission. One day, that opportunity will be gone. Not because it failed—but because it will be finished, at least for us. So the question isn’t just “Do I know Jesus?” It’s “Who around me doesn’t—and what am I doing about it?”
Look, this isn’t about pressure or guilt, it’s about purpose. You don’t need a stage. You don’t need perfect words. You just need a willing heart that's ready to love, to speak, and to live in a way that points others to Him. Because right now, you are exactly where the mission is. And there will never be another moment like this again. Ask God to put one person on your heart this week who doesn’t know Him. Pray for them every day this week. Then, look for one intentional opportunity to show them the love of Christ—whether that’s through a conversation, an act of kindness, or simply being present. Don’t overcomplicate it. Just be faithful with the moment in front of you. This side of Heaven is the only time you’ll ever have to make Heaven more crowded, so what are you going to do about it?
