September is the new May :)

For years May was my "so busy you just focus on today" month . . . September is quickly joining the ranks!

image Happy September, everyone!

September is the new May in my world :) For years, May was the busiest, "just focus on today because if you think much further ahead ...stress!" September may be trying to beat it. So busy, but all good things. My kids just started school today and everyone is so excited about their new teachers and to see their friends again. We've got a couple birthdays in the house, all the fall activities (marching band, plays, sports, and youth group) are kicking into full gear. After a long hiatus, my husband and I are also venturing into the world of youth ministry again. While we won't be taking on the roles of youth ministers, we are discerning becoming adult leaders in the youth ministry program our kids participate in. This is something we've been feeling a nudge toward for a while now, and excited about the possibility, God willing :)

And I've got some exciting writing events coming up. As you are reading this, I'm surely packing, because tomorrow I head out to the ACFW Conference and Storyfest. This is my first time taking part in Storyfest and I'm so excited to meet readers! I also have some exciting events coming up (Check out the details below! I'd love to meet you, if you're in the area).

I'm so proud of Emma's Hero for making this list:

Carrie from Reading is my SuperPower was gracious enough to read "Emma's Hero" and review it around its release in April (SO exciting!), and this past month she included it on her Top Ten Tuesday list for "Exceptional Debuts from 2023-2024.". What an honor. Check out the list for her review on Emma's Hero and her other recommendations for great debuts!

What I'm reading ...

I stumbled upon this one, and it's a "new to me author." I'm about halfway through and so far it's holding my attention and a very compelling story idea. I'm super curious to see how it ends.

Two possible lives to live. One impossible choice to make.

When Leona Warlon heads across the city to meet her husband, David, for a rare dinner out, she hopes they can share a moment of relief after their year of loss. But Leona quickly realizes this is no ordinary date night. She hasn’t just stepped into an upscale ristorante; she’s stepped into a different version of her life. One in which her marriage is no longer tender, in which her days are pressured by her powerful in-laws, and in which her precious baby girl lived.

Now Leona must weigh the bitter and sweet of both trajectories, facing an unimaginable choice: Stay in a world where tragedy hasn’t struck but where the meaningful life she built with David is gone? Or return to a reality that’s filled with struggle and sorrow but also deep and enduring love?
