Well, not at the retreat. The billionaire orc book was written before the writing retreat, and now that I'm home, I'm busy editing it.

Okay, so hey, my Wylde-lings! Long time! I've been up to so many things, and I can't wait to tell you all about it.

First of all, again, I HOPE you get this email. My newsletter provider has been such a PITA these past few months. I'm reluctant about building my newsletter now, though I have two freebies waiting.

That aside, let me tell you about the writing retreat. It was in Scotland, at a beautiful castle on a loch (Port-an-Eilean on Loch Tummel), and it was with the brilliant Maggie Stiefvater (who's read her books?). She's been my mentor (I consider her my mentor, at least, lol) since November last year, and she's helped me start a book in a whole different genre. Don't worry, I'm not giving up romance, but I did take plenty of time off this year to work on this new, scary, exciting, secret project.

Though... why is it still secret? Mainly because I haven't decided on a pen name. Or a title. And the book is not done yet. But I know it will come out next year, and when I have a title, a cover, a pre-order, and a bunch of more things that are absolutely necessary for a decent launch in place, I will let you know. And you can be sure I'll ask for your help.

Starting a new thing is frightening.

The retreat was four days, and I met great people who're working on great books. My boyfriend was with me, and he took pictures, as he does. He's a photographer in his spare time, and if the occasion allows it. So, here are some.

Yes, we burned our manuscripts! But that's because Maggie thought the wi-fi would be bad, and she asked us to make a copy of our book for each of our critique partners. It was fun, though!

Okay, so now that it's over... back to work!

I have two pre-orders up for August. One is Heart of a Satyr, a new book (novella, really) in the Monster Hearts series. It was part of an anthology which was unpublished recently, so I got the rights back.

And the other one is... *drum roll*... Viridescent. Do you remember Viridescent? It was supposed to come out last year, but life got in the way, and I had to cancel the pre-order. Now it's back, with a new cover, and a new release date! And the book is written, and it's 100k words. So... around 400 pages? Maybe more? I'm editing it now, and I'll know for sure as soon as I upload it on Amazon.

You can call this one Fifty Shades of an Orc, I don't mind. lol It's a Billionaire Orc romance, and it does have some kink in there.
