Hello, my Wylde-lings!
Bought by the Masked Cantor is here! This gothic, romantic, smutty love story is inspired by The Phantom of the Opera, but if you want, you can see a bit of Beauty and the Beast in it, too.
Mordred is a Cantor, a species of monster that is rare and whose song can entrance entire cities. Cantors are lonely creatures because if they live together, their song becomes toxic to any other people and monsters around them. Which means that our Mordred has been living alone for a century under the ruins on an opera house. Above him, a city eventually emerged, and the people have built a cult around him even if they never saw him. They know he is undergound. They think he is a god who sometimes grants them Mercies AKA healing songs.
Then Mordred refuses to sing for his city for six months.
Enter Aveline, the ex-prima donna who lost everything in a fire, including her beautiful face and her hearing. She is bought by the people to be offered to Mordred as a bride, in the hopes that Mordred will like his gift and sing for them.
For the first time, Mordred has a companion. And she can't hear him, which means, her mind cannot be manipulated by his voice. Whatever she thinks of him, whatever she feels for him... is real.

I’ve been worshipped. I’ve never been loved.
For centuries, I’ve lived alone. Cantors are rare, and we can’t stay together. Our song poisons minds. People kneel, build cults around us, and forget they ever wanted anything but to please us.
I’ve imagined a companion for longer than I care to admit. Someone of flesh and blood to sit next to me, speak to me because that is what she wishes. A woman whose affection I could trust.
A foolish dream. I’ve never allowed myself to hope.
Then, one night, the people above lower an offering into my den. A bride with pale hair, bright eyes, and skin marred by deep scars, yet beautiful enough to make me ache. I dread the moment my voice will steal her mind.
My first words to her are that I will not harm her. She shakes her head, points at her ear, and tells me: “I’m deaf.”
She can’t hear me. She can’t be compelled by my song. Whatever she thinks of me, whatever she feels, belongs to her.
I promise myself I will free her.
Too soon I discover it was easy to be unselfish when I had nothing I wanted to keep.
Last year, on October 8th, the first book in the Monsters' Bride Market series came out. It was Halloween-themed, just as gothic and romantic, and unintentionally on my part, it broke quite a few hearts.
If by some miracle you haven't read Bought by the Revenant yet, well then... you must. Just read the reviews. People are still crying and blaming me for it. Haha!

I am a thing of horror.
A failed experiment, stitched from mismatched parts. I carved out our place in the wastelands of Alia Terra, yet even my own kind, perfected by my work, avoids me. Hideous and utterly alone.
Years ago, consumed by this loneliness, I sent my blood to a Marriage Temple, and to my surprise, I was matched to a maiden. What happened when she saw me sent me into a spiral of despair and grim thoughts. I vanished behind my mansion's gates, forever.
But forever is a long time to be lonely. If this is my fate, then I’ll reject my immortality and be done with it. Or I can try once more…
I visit the bride market with no hope in my soul. I bid on every woman, the highest offer, always refused. Until...
She points at me. "Sold." Our eyes meet. I don’t know why this fierce, beautiful woman lets me buy her. I pull my cloak tighter, sure she is terrified. No matter. If I can have her, I'll hide my form, never touch her.
Happy reading!
