The puppies aren't free, though... :D

Remember how I said I was going on another vacation? Yoga retreat this time, total relaxation... Seven days of getting in touch with nature, eating healthy food, doing yoga every day, and just generally enjoying the mountains? Yeah. No.

Didn't happen.

We got there, to this fairly expensive retreat in one of the most picturesque villages in Romania, and stayed exactly one night. Two things made us leave: the mattresses were impossibly hard. Like, rock hard (not the good type of rock hard, like in romance books... ahem). I could barely sleep, and both my partner and I woke up with a backache from hell. The second thing: we had to sleep with ear plugs. I mean... I know it's a village. I know it's isolated and all the people there have dogs. But do the windows have to be that bad? There was a barking concert. All night. No breaks. I couldn't believe it! Some of our neighbors back home have dogs, and they sometimes bark at night, but OMG our windows and doors are solid! Also, said dogs do go to sleep at some point.

And the room... The room was so small. The bathroom was so cramped that my boyfriend and I couldn't fit in it at the same time. I don't want to hear it! I know all couples do it. LOL

Yeah. No. The next day, we talked to the owner and explained we couldn't possibly sleep with ear plugs for seven nights and break our backs so we could then soothe them with a yoga session. She was super nice, she understood, so she refunded us the full sum minus one night, and we were on our way to better places.

The vacation ended up being completely different from what we'd planned, but we had fun, slept well, ate amazing food, and saw some pretty cool places. I couldn't write a word last week, so I'm writing all of the words now. Ten more chapters to go, and Kaius the Fierce will be ready to meet your Kindles.

Now, before I move on to the freebies and this week's book recs, I want to show you some vacation pictures. They all feature puppies and the cutest horsey-horse.

This is me holding Spoopy-licious so he wouldn't attack the puppies that invaded us out of nowhere. They're probably the neighbor's puppies, but he wasn't home.

And these are the puppies! There were six or seven, but we couldn't get them all together for a photo.

All photos were taken by my boyfriend, with his awesome camera that I don't know how to use.

All in all, not a bad vacation at all.

So, this week I'm in the writing cave. I'll do my best to finish Kaius, so I can publish it by the end of August. I know you've been waiting for him! And I know I haven't published anything new since April (I think), and it really sucks. I feel like I've recharged my batteries a bit, and the words flow more easily.
