Hello, my Wylde-lings!
Happy Halloween! The last book in this round of Monsters' Bride Market came out yesterday. For her book, Lia Frost chose a very unique monster. The Ankou is a death spirit, as I understand. I can't wait to read the book myself and learn more about her hero.

One night. One mask. One stranger I was never supposed to see again.
Tomorrow, I’m selling myself to save the only family I have left. Tonight, I want to forget what morning will cost.
Then I dance with a masked stranger.
He listens when I talk. Touches me like he’s been waiting centuries. And when he asks me to stay, I do what I always do when something good gets too close.
I run.
By noon, I’ve chosen the Ankou as my husband.
He carries the dead. Even the other monsters won’t stand beside him. And he looks me in the eye and tells me he isn’t the man who held me last night.
Fine. I can fill his silent house with noise. Argue about his badly hung bell. Make his stone-faced butler almost smile.
What I can’t explain is the masked stranger who comes to my door after dark.
No names. No questions. Nothing said about daylight.
Those are my rules. They should make this easy.
But something in the fen is wearing the faces of the people we love, and the man who raised me is running out of time. Saving him means trusting my husband with more than my body.
And I know that voice. I know those hands.
If I say his name, I’ll have to admit why I keep opening the door.

I hope you enjoyed this October's masked monsters! The series now has twenty books in total, and I loved to see how it's evolved. We started it exactly a year ago. For now, we're taking a break, and we'll see what happens next year. Personally, I haven't made plans for 2027, I don't know what my publishing schedule will look like. This year, there won't be any new books from me. I feel like I need to step back for a bit and recover after a year that was quite intense.
I will keep you posted if anything changes, or if my author friends have an exciting book release. I know that Layla Fae is working on a few projects that I'm eagerly waiting for.
Until next time,
Cara
