Hello, my Wylde-lings!
New week, new book in the Monsters' Bride Market series! It's been a busy October so far, right? I wouldn't have it any other way.
Eva Brandt's contribution to the series - Bought by the Cerberus - is live today on Amazon, and of course, available in Kindle Unlimited, as well. Hope you enjoy it! It's already getting awesome reviews!

Worthless. Defective. Barren. I was dead inside, living an empty life. Until a hellhound found me.
My people say a woman’s worth is in her womb. They spit on me, throw rocks, burn everything I hold dear. “Cursed,” they call me.
Then he saves me. Theron. A monstrous Cerberus from the Blighted Lands. Death follows in his footsteps, but he looks at me and doesn’t see something broken.
“Mate,” he decides.
This massive beast could crush a man’s skull with his bare hands, but his claws touch me with infinite gentleness. His hellfire doesn’t burn me. Under his protection, I’m not defective.
I’m treasured. Worshipped. His.
There’s only one way for us to be together. The death-touched bride market. I must step on the auction block in the city of the dead and choose him.
There’s just one problem. Monsters who bow to death don’t take credits as currency. The price for my new life might be higher than I ever imagined.

Meanwhile, I'm working hard on Thing of Ruin, writing every day. I will be the first to admit I've been a bit slow, but only because I love this story so much, and I'm so obsessed with these characters that I want to take my time and do them justice.
I set up the release date for Thing of Ruin on November 28, and while I will do my absolute best to meet that deadline, I will also say that in order for me to write the best book I can write, I might take another extra month to finish it, if needed. I won't make this decision now, but just so you know, there's a slight possibility I might push the pre-order to December.
Thing of Ruin will be a big book, at over 100k words, possibly 130k. It grows as I write it. So, definitely over 400 pages in print. I'd say it will be worth the wait. What I can tell you is that I've never been so in love with a story I'm writing.
Here's a picture of the main character, Seraphina Bell. And a short teaser.

Her cell was unlocked, and the guard with the wooden club stepped forward, making her cower in the corner. She tried to become small. As small as a rodent. She certainly felt like one.
"So, this is the mad bitch?" the guard asked. Someone grunted behind him, and he tsked. "You're telling me this scrawny thing castrated an academy porter? I don't believe it."
"Two daggers, she had," the second guard said. "Or that's what I heard. Sharp, custom-made."
"You sure she didn't use a relic? Look at those twig-like wrists. There's no way she can do damage, no matter how sharp the dagger."
"They searched her thoroughly, especially when she said she's a Sarumite. No relics. No lattices, either."
They were talking about her as if she weren't there. She heard the third man clatter about, and she realized he was emptying and rinsing her night bucket. The guards were there to make sure the prisoners didn't misbehave or get any crazy ideas when they saw their cell doors open.
"The year of the Lord 1818, and here I am, still learning new, astonishing things," the first guard said sarcastically, then she heard him suck his teeth and spit. "Here, let me."
She didn't know what he was talking about, but then she felt lukewarm slop hit her chest, and a second later, a wooden bowl landed in her lap.
"Breakfast is served," he laughed.
Seraphina jumped to her feet, hurt and angry, and now filthy with the foul-smelling gruel he'd thrown at her.

Wait, haven't I told you? The story in Thing of Ruin takes place in 1818, in Bavaria, the city of Ingolstadt. I classify it as a gothic historical romantasy, where magic seeps into the fabric of the real world.
The magic system is based on relics - the bones of saints. And there's an entire background to that as well.
I'm so excited about the world building, and of course, the romance (they meet in prison), and I can't wait for you to read it. So that's why I'm gonna retreat to my writing cave now and write another chapter.
Until next time,
Cara
