We're half-way through the year and it honestly feels like it's picking up speed. At the same time winter is dragging its feet with ongoing rain, wind and snow. Stay safe out there! Summer's coming!

How did you find us?

We're curious. How did you first hear about Cape Connect? Click through to a quick survey here. But hurry - we're giving away a free temporary speed upgrade (on our own network) for the rest of the month to one client who responds before 5pm, 2 July 2025!

URGENT - Account balances

Please check your account balance using your latest invoice. Click on the link in the invoice email you received, enter the provided code to access to your online accounting profile. There are tabs for all your invoices, receipts etc.

If you have an outstanding balance we URGENTLY need it cleared, or services will be automatically suspended until full balance is received when we move accounts over to our new system.

Should you wish your balance added to your next debit order, please email our accounts team. If there are any payments you feel have not been allocated or any questions about your billing, again please email accounts.

A reminder to keep our accounts office updated if your contact or payment details change.

Router upgrades

Using the same router for years and years? It may be getting a little long in the tooth. We suggest an upgrade to suit current data-hungry media needs. Contact Aldo via our support email or call our office for advice and a quote.

From the Archives

In 2014 we were approached to provide "portable" internt to stream a rugby match live to DSTV. What do you do when you have to broadcast from the middle of a field? Well, you make a plan!

Our resident expert did some plotting, scheming and crafting. We grabbed the company Land Rover and the company van, figured out support for a 6m pole attached to both the roofrack and the rock sliders, then plotted the equipment needed to connect to our nearest high site and to the broadcaster's equipment - giving them stable over-the-air streaming as the boys battled through their game. The Land Rover held the pole and antenna rock-steady, the van housed the equipment with constant monitoring, and a network cable plugged straight into to the nearby broadcasting system.

Tested thoroughly at the office, we pulled in field-side on the appointed day, parked the two vehicles rear to rear, threw some tape across to prevent anyone tripping over cables, plugged into power and aimed our dish at our site. Voila! Internet!

Did the connection drop during the game? No. Did it seamlessly end up on DSTV with no-one the wiser as to how it got there? Of course. Not a single issue with our absolutely awesome setup.

We still provide internet link-ups for sports days and one-off events. We currently have a permanent link between sites in Strand that use this service, allowing for fast, stable streaming of the day's activities to anyone watching online.

No Land Rover required.

Shot of the month

We're often out on site at very odd hours and in very strange places - but this means we get some awesome views. Here's this month's picture perfect shot.

Here's to a great month to come, and an excellent second half.
