Release the Kraken! Heating up down south is the number 2 ranked CFC100 2022 linebacker, Edwin Wilson Tara Kolenge, out of Quebec. The 6'4" 230lbs beast, originally out of Ecole Secondaire Dalbe-Viau, has multiple offers such as Nebraska, Syracuse, Boston College, and Virginia tech to name a few. However, we have heard that Notre Dame has put Kolenge on their radar and may have the opportunity to join fellow Canadian CFC100 Chase Claypool on their roster. According to Kolenge's Coach, this kid works his butt off - not only in training, but in the classroom as well. With a 3.56 GPA, we can only see his options growing by the week. Will he stay at linebacker or will he pack on some more weight and terrorize quarterbacks everywhere on the line of scrimmage? Either way, Kolenge is well on his way to becoming CFCs class of 2022 number 1 in Canada.
Our take:
- Natural ability to find the ball
- Makes plays parallel to the line of scrimmage
- Has good range, and demonstrates a toughness and physicality you love to see in your backers
- Has the potential to bulk up and be a defensive end at the next level
TOP PROSPECTS of the week
CFC200 Class 2021 LB Logan Broughton (Grant Park - Winnipeg, MB)
"My size helps me in the game but speed kills so I’m working to improve that."
Class 2021 QB Gabriel DiSanto (Niagara Spears, Niagara, ON)
"My attitude is quite calm and easygoing until it comes to sports where I am very competitive and care about winning. What recruiters will get is a hard working leader who leads by doing first and talking second. In addition, I want to be coached, I like being coached and talking about what I am doing, what are my progressions and the objective of each play."
Class 2021 LB William Naud (CNDF - Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, QC)
"I'm looking forward to being able to put the helmet on and challenge my teammates again in practice. Improving myself as well as helping them improve their game. It is too early to think of a full season, but I am working in a way to make sure that when the day comes, my teammates and myself will be ready to take the field and dominate."
Class 2023 OL Kevin Griffiths (Handsworth Secondary - North Vancouver, B.C)
"Run blocking to get more pancakes and highlights. I have also been working at my speed on the line. I have consistently increased my weights and strength this year and plan to continue to do this to continue to beat previous personal bests."

SOUTH OF THE BORDER HEADLINES
- CFC100 Class 2021 (and apparently big-time scholar) Luke Foster announced his commitment to Yale this past week. The 6’4”, 245lbs tight end held 16 offers, including Rutgers, Buffalo, and Eastern Michigan, prior to making his decision on the Ivy League school. Going to what could be seen as the most academically prestigious school in the world, even if his pro football career doesn’t work out, expect for him to be making tons of money in his adulthood.
- The Mid-American Conference and Mountain West conference have become the first two FBS conferences to postpone their season to the spring of 2021. Many Canadians play in these conferences and will therefore be impacted, but it’s very likely that the moving of the fall seasons by these conferences are just the first dominoes to fall, and other conferences will follow suit.
- CFC100 Class 2022 #2 ranked Edwin Wilson Tara Kolenge picked up offer #11 this week from South Carolina. The 6’3”, 225lbs linebacker made the move down south for his 2020 season and will be attending a school in Florida. He has also recently been ranked a 4-star recruit by ESPN, in addition to reportedly garnering interest from Notre Dame, from which standout receiver Chase Claypool just moved onto the NFL.
RECRUITING TIP
Most popular questions from recruits this week?
No matter if you're a superstar athlete or a superstar mathlete, every high school student with post-secondary aspirations will need to find the right school for them. It's likely one of the biggest decisions you're going to make, which is a lot of pressure for 17 and 18 year old kids. Your best friend will be an academic advisor, and more research than you're planning to do for your final exams.
BOTTOM LINE:
Every single school is going to offer a different list of pros and cons based on your unique situation, so don't let peer pressure influence your decision. Trust your research, and most importantly trust your gut.
EVENTS by CFC
The CFC Selection camp, Fox 40 Prospect Challenge, and CFC100 combines have now been completed in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and the Maritimes. Players have been working hard over the pandemic to earn their spot on the CFC Prospect Game roster for the game that is broadcast on TSN. There have been some tremendous combine scores. Here are some of the standouts that we've seen to date - with more to come!
In British Columbia, CFC200 receiver Linden Williams ran a 4.68 laser 40. While linebacker Kieran Pattison had a 37" vertical jump. Over in Alberta, Williams time was bested by linebacker Cameron Kuziak at 4.62 for his laser 40 and receiver Luke Yakemchuk had a 9'9" broad jump. Running back Matteo Civitarese as lightening quick on for his pro-agility with a 4.24 and 4.32. In Manitoba, CFC200 defensive back Jake Nitychoruk was a testing beast with multiple test scores in the top 5 - his broad at 10'1"! CFC100 quarterback Samuel Tremblay recorded the best broad at 9'9" over on the East Coast.
With Ontario completed this past weekend, Montreal is up next weekend, and we are waiting on Saskatchewan, more players will be making their way to the CFC scouting bureau for further evaluation. We can say that COD wasn't the only thing these kids were doing the past few months. They were getting it done wherever they figured out their training regime.
