OFFER THAT GUY

Introducing Class of 2022 rowdy Rodirigue Bisharhwa. He puts the smash in QB smash ... and that's a bit of an understatement. The 6'2" 225lbs defensive end out of Montreal, Quebec is one heck of a pass rusher and comes off the edge with a whole lot of speed and bad intentions on his mind. When you watch his film, you'll see what we mean. Heck, he even recovers a fumble and takes it back for a touchdown. Just coming onto CFC's radar, we're putting him out there to get him on yours. This kid deserves a look!

Our take:

  • Outstanding athlete, great takeoff, uses hands extremely well
  • Demonstrates natural pass rushing skills
  • Can make plays in space and wreak havoc off the edge
  • @bisharhwa

SOUTH OF THE BORDER HEADLINES

  • Canadian-American quarterback Brett Rypien started this past week for the Denver Broncos. By jus sanguinis, he became the first Canadian QB to start an NFL game since Jesse Palmer back in 2003. Ironically, Palmer in 2003 was the first to start since Rypien’s uncle and Super Bowl Champ, Mark Rypien. Brett showed flashes of brilliance despite his 3 interceptions, and he finished the game 19/31 with 2 TD and managed to pull out the W over the struggling Jets.

  • This weekend was most likely the most successful for Canadians in the NCAA with many guys having big time performances. The biggest performance likely came from Alabama receiver and former CFC100 #1 ranked player REC John Metchie who had 5 catches for 181 yards and 2 TDs. Other Canadians with big performances in the NCAA were former CFC100s and CFC60s Enock Makonzo (Coastal Carolina), Akheem Mesidor (West Virginia), Alonzo Addae (West Virginia), Chuba Hubbard (Oklahoma State), Josh Palmer (Tennessee), and Terrell Jana (Virginia).

  • Top 2021 NFL draft prospect S Jevon Holland announced this past week that he’s opting out of the 2021 football season with Oregon to prepare for the draft. The 6’1, 200lbs safety/nickel follows what’s become a common occurrence this year among top prospects for next spring’s draft in opting out, as he joins teammate OT Penei Sewell who will likely be a top 5 pick. They will miss Holland, who’s had 9 interceptions over the past two years, in addition to being a Jim Thorpe Award semi-finalist last season.

RECRUITING TIP

Most popular questions from recruits this week?

You may not be actually playing football right now, but that doesn't mean your coach should be M.I.A. in the recruiting process. There are two people that coaches want to talk to; you and your high school coach. They will get all the answers they need from these two sources. Just because there's a pandemic ... doesn't mean these rules will change on the trail.

BOTTOM LINE:

Your relationship with your current coach can be extremely helpful or harmful. Future programs will ask your coach how you are at practice, how hard do you work, what kind of teammate are you ... they want to know how you are on a day-to-day basis.
