Spring is synonymous with new life! While I continue to add new life to the Arch Mage Series, banging away at the keyboard for False Earth, we see the blossoms, warmer weather, and new additions to our family.
Being a grandma is such a rewarding adventure. And our Rachael, who I started writing the Arch Mage series for and whom the Main Character is based on had a baby this week!
Molly Agnes joined our family and we couldn't be more proud of Rachael, her husband and Molly. With all of Rachael's health concerns (migraines and POTS) we were worried about the labor and delivery. But all went so well and mom and baby are recovering nicely.
In the meantime, Agnes is working to escape the clutches of the massively powerful villain in False Earth. Here's a sneak peak... unedited and raw!
An ominous, persistent, schhhlep thump, schhhlep thump, rang between the stone walls of Sharir’s fortress. Stumpy’s uneven two-legged gait neared with each step. Drat it all. He must have noticed the armful of jellied fat missing from the mess hall. He’d catch me red-handed. For the umpteenth time, I wondered what sick twist of fate laid the future of the universe on the shoulders of a skinny, scarred, teenaged girl from a planet that banned magic. I grew up in Melrose, Massachusetts for cripe’s sake. How was I supposed to survive on a demon prison planet?
Crap. This wasn’t the time to ponder my derailed destiny. Time to run.
The bits of fur I’d wrapped around my mesh armor boots muffled most of the sound of my running, but sound didn’t matter. Stumpy hunted with his insane sense of smell.
Safety lay just around the corner beneath a metal drain grate set in the center of the stone floor of the fortress’s mess hall. At least, it might be a mess hall. Maybe it was just a huge slaughterhouse. Either way, it had tables as tall as motor homes, a solid butcher’s block the size of a bus, fireplaces, and enormous iron kettles.
Twenty-seven days ago, the Overlord of Demons and all around jerkface, Sharir, brought me to this space purgatory called the Nia Nega Abyss and robbed me of my magic. I escaped through a crack in his floor. Hiding like a roach inside the hollow stone walls, I cried for the loss of my family, my friends, my awesome boyfriend, Temnon, and my magic. With crusty tears dried on my face, I curled up into a ball expecting to die from sheer sadness. But, contrary to the plotlines of cheesy romance novels, sadness isn’t fatal.
Starvation is, though.
How will Agnes escape and how will she defeat the Overlord of Demons????

Saving the princess was only the start.
When you’re down on your luck, you’ll do what it takes to make ends meet. For Kaine, that meant gathering mushrooms in the forest, a dull but safer job than his previous life on a merchant ship. The woman’s screams were the last thing he expected. Dashing to her rescue, Kaine finds himself face to face with a monster that should not even exist, fighting for his life as well as hers.
His world only gets crazier from there. Kaine returns with Lydia, the daughter of the king, to her father’s castle where he unexpectedly finds himself in the king’s good graces. Confused and leery, Kaine reluctantly agrees to remain and help with Lydia’s younger siblings. Life could not have thrown him more.
Kaine is plunged into a world of magical intrigue, unrest, and political maneuvering. Each new event leaves him feeling out of place and, worse, dangerously exposed to a growing threat. The Darian Kingdom stands at the crossroads. Lydia’s upcoming wedding to the prince of the Throatian Kingdom will soon become the defining moment in Kaine’s life.
With the threat of war looming on the horizon, it is going to take every ounce of guile, cunning, and willpower for Kaine to survive, and, if he is fortunate, prevent the fast approaching storm from burning his world to the ground.
Wedding of the Torn Rose is a fast-paced fantasy adventure with mystery, action, and magic. Journey with Kaine as he attempts to prevent a war and save a kingdom in the first volume of the Symphony of Crowns and Gods series.
Will Tom embrace his new destiny, and can he make it out unscathed?
On his sixteenth birthday, Tom is bestowed with strange new magical powers. And when his sister is kidnapped, he discovers he was actually the intended target. Now, a group of villains with terrifying superhuman powers is after him because he might be the Last Blood Mage.
The Blood Mage is the first book in a new YA trilogy, and a spinoff of the fantastical Evers Series. While fans of Lola Evers’ adventures will especially excited about this new story, new readers do not need to have read the Evers Series to enjoy this book.
Happy Reading,
Cami
