Avatamsaka Sutra Recitation Session
The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas (CTTB) is currently hosting an Avatamsaka Sutra Daily Recitation Session from June 13th until July 8th. The assembly is reciting the Avatamsaka Sutra, also known as the Flower Adornment Sutra, alternating between Chinese and English recitation during the day. The “Avatamsaka Syllabary” is also recited.
This recitation session is being held following the instructions of the Venerable Master Hsuan Hua, who told his disciples to recite this sutra in times of drought, wildfires, and around the time of his passing. This session is also held to dedicate merit to the ongoing global pandemic.
