India Needs Help!

Hey y’all!
I’m still figuring out this whole newsletter and content creation thing but I know being consistent is key. So by the next newsletter I’ll be decided on a cadence going forward but these last few weeks have been hectic with my personal life and just going on vacation.
Excuses aside I wanted to relate my vacation to some actionable tips before getting to the main story today.
I recently went on vacation to a nice beach town that had very picket fence, small town aesthetics & vibes.
Overall it was a very enjoyable trip and the costs didn’t really worry me too much as we were able to follow some of these quick vacation tips below to not get bogged down in costs:
-Splitting costs and responsibilities
-Staying in a place where we can cook instead of having to rely on buying food at the location
-Sourcing food or meals beforehand
-Booking offseason
-Having a separate savings or investment vehicle dedicated for vacations
-Prepping our own activities
-Coordinating logistics
Now many of these tips really only apply to local or road tripping vacations but that’s okay since in these current times it’s still pretty difficult to be traveling internationally.
Take our main cause of concern for today India for example. India has become a COVID hotspot in recent days and the situation has gotten very bad. I won’t recreate the wheel here so I’ll link some relevant updates on the situation:
CNN
But what does this necessarily mean for me here in my home if I don’t live in India? Well markets reacted negatively upon news that the US will lift the patents for vaccines, showing how truly beneficial and for humanity the stock market is sometimes.
In all seriousness the situation in India is very dire. India is the second populous country in the world, with a long and rich history with thousands of cultures that need to preserved and celebrated. Many businesses also have ties, connections or bases in India. 92 developing countries also rely on India for their own medical or vaccine needs but if India is struggling to contain it’s own health crisis it probably can’t help other countries. As India continues to fight this pandemic the repercussions will be felt worldwide for years to come, but for right now know that it’s important that India and the rest of the world get’s the support it needs.
The entire world is connected and choosing to ignore something like this today will definitely have repercussions on our life and finances later down the road.
I’ll try to find something happier to discuss next week and if you can do me a favor and share this newsletter with one friend who deserves some good news next week, send them my way at sendfox.com/broke
Have a great week!
