With action we ended SARS, you too can change your life!

I must have been living under a rock.
Many trends pass over my head and I just never get to hear about them until after they may have passed. Don't blame me, since I started being intentional about my life and journey, I protect my mind and am choosy about what I allow in.
I have an intern working with me as an assistant. Young girl, I doubt if she is up to twenty years old. She asked me last week what I thought about the End SARS matter and I told her I didn't know much about it, but would try to find out. I had been working on a project so had been away from social media for a bit.
Well, by the weekend, it was in my face! I didn't need to look for the gist again. I was confronted with the protesters. Young boys and girls, decently dressed, well spoken, each with a different placard. I was stuck in traffic so I read them all. I even took a few pictures, wound down my glass and gave them a thumbs up. I was proud of them. The road freed up and I went my way.
In less than thirty minutes I was back at the same spot, on the other side of the road. This time we spent five hours in that spot. Strangely, I wasn't as annoyed as I thought I would be. I just felt, oh well, they've got to do what they've got to do.
To be honest, I was proud of them. These "lazy" Nigerian youths were able to organize themselves into coordinated protests and prayer walks around the country and sustain the tempo till they were heard! It was mind-blowing. And of course the government took note and the president has addressed the nation, banning SARS and calling for police reforms! Yay! Victory!
So why am I telling you this story? Whether or not you support the #EndSARS movement, you've got to be proud of these youngsters! Their determination, their persistence, their refusal to back down! Yes, it was uncomfortable for some of us (I mean five hours in traffic a day after my 9km walk for my alma mater wasn't funny. My legs cried!) But if we all need to get uncomfortable to achieve a greater good, then so be it.
Do you know that like these youths, you can take control of whatever situation you don't like in your life? All you need is to get really fed up of your present situation and be determined to do something about it. The something may just be a rant on live video on social media, or a decision to reach out to a coach or sign up to a course. It could be a deep introspection or booking a clarity session. It could be a phone call to that your go-getter friend who would listen and tell you what next to do.
It just has to be some sort of ACTION.
As with the end sars campaign, doing nothing is not an option!
Congrats to the many who fought for this victory.
