GIFTS ARE WHAT YOU MAKE OF THEM

I belong to an amazing group of women (okay I belong to more than one group of women but each feeds different needs). The particular one I am referring to is a Christian mentorship group.
Just this weekend, we planned and executed a high level surprise party for our convener in a matter of days! The details that went into that planning, I can only leave you to imagine. What amazed me was the willingness to come together to celebrate a fellow woman. The way the money was raised speedily and the skills the committee members displayed.... it was heartwarming.
After revealing our surprise, the convener had a lot to say and some people also spoke. But one thing I took away from that event was - A GIFT IS THAT ONE THING THAT YOU EFFORTLESSLY DO BETTER THAN OTHERS!
So you can sing better than others effortlessly - gift!
You can write/ sew/ make hair/ bake better than others effortlessly- gift!
You can counsel people when they are down and give great advice - gift!
You can organize the best events effortlessly- gift!
You can listen intently and people come away from a conversation with you feeling understood and heard - gift!
You connect people to what can solve their needs, like you are the “plug” of life - gift!
I could go on and on, but you get the point.
Now, knowing your gift is one thing, actually USING it is another. Because your gift is really about what you make of it.
The woman we were celebrating has a gift of raising women to partner and be the best versions of themselves. If she didn’t do anything about it, we wouldn’t be there celebrating her would we?
Today, I urge you to do a reflection about your gifting and start thinking of ways to make use of them.
In other news, I have decided to merge the two of my best gifts - my storytelling skills and my architecture experience - into an awesome book that is sure to change your life if you have any plans of owning a home, ever!
A couple tell their story of how the addition to their family and the need for a bigger apartment led to them buying land and going into the business of building their first home! The story chronicles all that they did to get to their goal, teaching you the lessons along the way.
Great story, right? However, I need your help. I am agonizing over the cover. Please take a minute to help me vote for the cover you prefer. Simply reply this email with A, B, or C.
If you can give reasons for your answer, I’ll be most appreciative.
Stay tuned as I reveal the date when pre-order opens. This is one book that will help millions of Nigerians. Don’t keep a good thing to yourself. Tell your friends about it. And don’t forget to vote.
It’s another Monday, a new month and I am rooting for your success! I wish all our awesome teachers a Happy Teachers Day!
Till I come your way next week,
I remain your Favourite girl,
Brenda Unu
