Yay, its TGIF!

When last did you hear that, really? With the lockdown (eased or not), the days have flowed into each other and we hardly know a Friday from a Wednesday....

I mean, what is a TGIF without an outing? No lounges, no clubs, no parties, no cinemas! Hay God! Covid-19, please go already!

Now, with no TGIF break, I am almost losing it. I need to sell my children. Who wants? This one is not highest bidder o, any bidder. Just come and carry them for one weekend. Just one weekend. Pleaseeeee!

If your kids are anything like mine, they are either dragging remote, or fighting over a toy, or a favourite cup - cup kwa? Ah, I am tayad. Come and carry. Just one weekend o, I will need them back please!

Seriously though, I have had to be creative about keeping them occupied and I know that the easiest way is sitting them in front of a TV so that you can have peace. I know, I do it sometimes. But that is not good, and certainly not all the time. So, I have learnt to incorporate reading time in their schedules for some sanity for me and them.

I know, I know, your child has read all the books in your house right? I have his/her brother at my house- lol. That is why I feel your pain. That is why I know just what you need to calm them down a bit - more books!

I bring you not one, but TWO fresh books, written with love for your 5-8-year-olds.

And you know the best part? They can read it out to their younger ones, so that keeps all of them busy for some minutes! And knowing the babies, they will ask for it to be repeated again and again - that buys you more time to kickback.
