Hello!
I really just wanted to write to share this amazing photograph of a monkey flossing his teeth!
But I thought, maybe, to justify it I would write about a lesson I learned about forming habits in my 30 year journey to become the type of guy that flosses regularly.
The article is titled What Learning to Floss Taught Me About Making On-Shift Movement Easy.
------
An excerpt from the article:
------
When I was in elementary school, dental hygienists would visit our class every year and give us lessons on flossing.
“Isn’t flossing such a wonderful thing? Look how easy it is! After you’ve brushed your teeth, just wrap some of this waxed twine around your fingers and slide it in between each and every one of your teeth.”
“MISS, MY FINGER IS TURNING PURPLE AND IT FEELS FUNNY.”
“Well, ok, just maybe don’t wrap it quite so ti–”
“MISS, MY FLOSS GOT STUCK.”
“Right, you just kind of have to wiggle i–”
“AH MY GOSH, I’M BLEEDING!!!!”
------
And, I also wrote a song about the monkey!
So I say
Floss for me, floss for me, floss for me, oh, oh, oh
I've never seen anybody do the things you do before
They say move for me, move for me, move for me, ay, ay, ay…
Yours in pursuit of Medic Mastery (and more on-shift movement!)
Brendan
