“Thanks, I can do it,” she said.  

“Of course you can,” Sinaco smiled. 

“How’d you find me?” she asked. 

A strange expression flashed across his face, as if she’d asked him an embarrassing question. His eyes widened as he thought carefully.  

“I used my magic,” he concluded.  

“Your dark woods witch doctor magic?” she giggled. 

“Yes, that’s the one,” he replied. 

Cadence continued to sip the tea. Even after everything, he wasn’t letting this whole alien from outer space thing go and she couldn’t understand why. She could admit the flying RV was odd, but she didn’t find it completely unbelievable either. Sinaco did seem like a smart, innovative sort of man. She tilted her head and raised a single eyebrow. 

“You still don’t believe me, do you?” he sighed.  

“I mean, sure I do,” she shrugged. “Whatever you say, blue man.” 

“Listen here, you brattly little Earth human, if you weren’t in such pitiful shape, I’d…” he trailed off. Cadence liked the way he teased her. It took the edge off her desperate situation. She leaned forward, anticipating her answer.  

“You’d what?” she coaxed. 

“Well, I’d bend you over my knee, and spank you proper,” he announced. 

“Promise?” she replied.
