After nine books, it's finally time for Mackenzie & Hyla to get their happily ever after. Book ten of the Friends Like This series is a sweet and emotional ride to the beginning of Mackenzie & Hyla's HEA. It also sets up the final (yes, final!) book of the series.

💜 Yes.
She said yes.
“Yes?”
Mackenzie grabs my face in her hands. “Yes. We dreamed this together for so long. I can’t wait to go inside and see where we’ll dream the next part of our future. Together.”
“I fucking love you.”
In answer, she drags my lips to hers, kissing me deeply. When she pulls away, she rests her head against mine. “I love you too.” Then she laughs and turns back to the house. “Can I see it now?”
“Hell yes. Come on.”
I grab her hand and lead her down the walkway to the front porch stairs.
“I love the swinging bench,” she says as she gazes at the porch. “And the flower garden. And vegetables?” she asks as she glances behind us.
“Only a few things this year, but I wanted to have it all set up for next year.”
“Show me later. Right now, I want to see the inside of the house.”
“Our house.” I step in front of her, looking into her eyes. “I own the house outright, which means all we have to do is file some paperwork and your name will be on title as well. I want to do that because I don’t ever want you to see this as my house. It’s our home. A home we get to build together. Starting right now.”
She wipes a tear from her cheek. “I still can’t believe you did all this.”
“I saw an opportunity, and I took it. I knew it couldn’t be a coincidence. This house became available when it did because we were meant to have it—to live here together.”
She laughs lightly. “I was just thinking we’d officially decide the status of our relationship and how and where we’d spend time together tonight. I guess you answered all of that for me.”
I cup her cheek. “You answered when you said yes.”
“God damn it. We’re never going to get inside if you keep saying things that make me want to kiss you.”
“Sorry,” I laugh.
She gives me a quick peck. “Don’t be. Now I’m ready. Show me our house.”
My heart beats happily at those words. I’ve never wanted anything more than this, and now we have it.💜
