It's flashback time!

Over the last year, we've gained some awesome new book besties, and since I have no chill and write all the things, I'm starting a new monthly (or semi-monthly) feature to share some of my older books with anyone who might not know about them yet!

Running Back to You

Ugh, I LOVE Mike and Steph so much. They were one of those couples that ate away at me until I finally wrote them. Whenever I hear Timeless by Airborne Toxic Event or Chasing After You by Maren Morris & Ryan Hurd, I think of them.

What are the vibes?

Mike & Steph have instant chemistry, but they both have tortured pasts. They love hard... until the pain stops them cold. Which explains why they get married in Vegas, never tell anyone, then breakup. But they keep hooking up because they're still madly in love.

The angst, drama, and heartache in this one... it's definitely one of my more emotional books, and Steph is one of my messiest girls, but she has a BIG heart.

This story is all about what it means to love someone and choose to let them in--even if that means showing them the darkest parts of you.

Tropes

Broken up but still in love, Secretly married, Healing from traumatic pasts, Messy, closed-off FMC × protective, hurting MMC, Small town, Found family

Blurb

Stephanie Hawley is my greatest weakness. The red-haired hellion who both infuriates me and lights me on fire.

She’s also my wife.

One alcohol-fueled night in Vegas, we made a commitment, one she wasn’t ready for.

Nothing like a marriage to destroy a relationship.

Yet, I can’t quit her. Despite being broken up, whenever she knocks on my door, I let her in without question.

But when she shows up looking for something else entirely—a date to her sister’s wedding—I take a chance. I’ll be her date, if she’ll be my wife—for real this time.

Now we’re living in the same house, going home to her chaotic family, and trying to put the pieces of our relationship back together again.

With everything on the line, I’m starting to wonder if we can rise above the pain of our tortured pasts or if our heartache will tear us apart for good.

These lyrics from Chasing After You really sum it up how their book starts...

You come over when your wine's all gone

Always catch me when I'm not that strong

Then you wind up staying all night long

Ain't nothin' new

Then I wake up with you on my chest

You have a way of makin' me forget

Girl, with you the answer's always 'yes'

Every time you call

But it's these lyrics from Perfectly Broken (by Banners), that highlights the way they love each other...

We didn't need fixing all of this time

Cause all of your edges fit right into mine

Fall into me

Everyone's broken, and I've got this missing piece

Honestly, you fit me like no one

You're perfectly broken for me

If you haven't read it yet, now's the perfect time. It's even set right at this time of year, making it a perfect, cozy winter read. While it's book 4 in the Ida Romance series, it can be read as a standalone.
