Hi everyone! I'm feeling very blah today. I started with TikTok during lockdowns and found a place full of creative, fun, and very smart people that have taught me so much and kept me entertained.
Last year I started a TikTok shop and have sold more blind date books and signed paperbacks there than any other platform including my PayHip store. As a self-published author who has never been with a publisher, it is very hard to get your books to be noticed. TikTok changed that for me and a lot of other creators but next week that changes. I hope I'm wrong and it doesn't but I don't have a lot of hope. I'm sad to lose a community that I love and that has helped me through a lot of tough times.
I am now on Lemon8 but that will probably disappear with TikTok and I signed up for Substack but its very complicated and I just don't think it's for me. I'm going to try to post on YouTube shorts but I'm not sure it's for me either. I'm also on RedNote but I cannot use it for book promotion. I joined BlueSky a while back but its too much like Twitter and I never did like it. I'll still be on Facebook and Instagram, and I'll always have a weekly newsletter.
