Hi !
Did you also enjoy the 11-11 sales? How eagerly did you anticipate the free shipping vouchers and site-wide discounts? Where you fast enough to grab all the opportunities to save?
In my family, my siblings and lolo had a “shopping party” wherein we had ordered Mang Inasal for lunch and afterward helped our lolo buy things on Lazada and Shoppee.
It was amusing and heartwarming to watch my younger siblings and ate assist our lolo with his needs that day.
It wasn’t easy for them since it was a regular workday but they went out of their way to help out and also enjoy in the process.
There is JOY experienced in the family. No matter how seemingly ordinary a moment is at home, there is the opportunity for each one to share happiness.
Regardless of how little or big the event is, it is the individual members of a family that make the difference.
With simple gestures of love and sacrifice, family life is more pleasant and warm.
Pope Francis, in his encyclical, Amoris Laetitia draws our attention to this love and to the value of each person in the family.
He said, “The Joy of Love experienced by families is also the joy of the Church.”
Although this encyclical was written in the year of Mercy (2016) it is all the more relevant now, especially during this pandemic.
Families have grown closer to one another amidst the lockdowns and we are witnessing the importance of family and married life resurface today.
There is so much we can reflect on about that topic. I hope we can sit down for coffee to talk about them one day.
For now, I leave you with this thought that Pope Francis ends his introduction within Amoris Laetitia:
It is my hope that, in reading this text, all will feel called to love and cherish family life, for “families are not a problem; they are first and foremost an opportunity”.
I recommend you read Amoris Laetitia if you haven't yet or consider reading it again :)
Speaking of Joy, there's a conference called Jesus Centered Life: Share the Joy which will happen virtually on December 8 - 12, 2021.
Sign up as it's for free and gain access to inspiring talks and activities that will help you discover the joy of living and sharing the gospel.
See you in my next email.
For now, have a wonderful week ahead.
