Happy Monday!

Happy Monday ,
Last week, I had a conversation with my daughter after a bit of a spat. We had just finished our family workout, and she was upset because she didn’t want to be the first person to take a shower.
At first, I started to fuss and make her do what I asked. Then my tone changed I said, “baby, you should be grateful you have the water to keep clean. A lot of people don’t have that. No one is mad at you. It’s not a punishment; it’s a privilege.” She responded with a long drag, “oooookaaay” and took her shower. But the words that came out of my mouth boomeranged and resonated with me. I heard God say, “Yes, exactly: It’s not a punishment, it’s a privilege”. The truth is, I was having a hard week of losses myself, and I lost perspective, too. I began to think about all the tasks I didn’t look at with joy.
Often, we look at the things we have to do to obtain success in our goals, and it feels grueling:
You need to budget to kill debt
You must do your laundry to have clean clothes
You have to work out consistently to keep mobility
You have to eat better to maintain your health
And the list goes on.
In all these examples, it can get boring, exhausting, and sometimes downright grueling. It can feel like the moment you start to slack, these things start to slip
But doing them isn’t a punishment in itself.
The privilege lies in the opportunity we get to be able to
It's have the privilege of earning an income
It's a privilege to be able to wash your clothes
It's a privilege to have the activity of your limbs
It's a privilege to be able to buy and eat the food you choose
Sometimes, our consistency is on the other side of our perspective. Even if it doesn't show fruit in the moment, it will in the future.
So , as I share with you over time, I count it a privilege to show up for you and this little family of mind, write healthy(ish) recipes, share inspiring content, and more.
What do you have the privilege of being successful in this week?
