If you've been on this list for a while, you may remember a video I sent — I talked about Narnia, my grandmother, and a big vision for community I was hoping to build.

I meant all of it.

But I also haven't been as clear as I should have been about where we're going next. So let me just say it plainly.

My name is Craig. I'm an attorney, a dad, and an active member of my church. I've spent most of my adult life — in courtrooms and state houses — watching people either hold up under pressure or fall apart.

And the question I keep coming back to is: what made the difference?

I don't think it was intelligence. I don't think it was even faith, exactly — plenty of faithful people fall apart when things get hard.

I think it was something that had to be built. Deliberately. Usually earlier in life than most people realize.

That's what I want to talk about over the next few emails.

Because I think it's the most important thing we can do for our kids right now.
