Questions people ask before saying "YES"

"A man who asks questions never loses his way."

I know that you must have some pressing questions you need answers to concerning email copywriting that I have been droning on about in your inbox.

And so I want to dedicate this email to answer some of the most-asked questions I keep getting over and over.

Let's get started…

Q: "I am not a writer… never written anything to sell before… will this still work for me?"

A: The fact that you are NOT a writer is PERFECT!

That’s because the best emails are written in very simple, correct English that even a 5th grader can understand.

So if you can construct simple sentences together, that’s already better than traditional writers who like to write in flowery, high-sounding grammar.

They first have to unlearn many things about traditional writing before they can become sales copywriters.

For example, in the world of literary writing, you cannot start a sentence with “AND” or “BECAUSE”. But when writing emails you can.

There are no strict grammar rules to shackle you when you write email copies.

Matter of fact…

There’s an African-American lady called Carline Anglade Cole who by herself describes her writing as wacky and ghetto-ish.

Yet, she’s one of the most celebrated copywriters living in the world today.

So yep, you can become an email copywriter even if you don’t identify as a writer.

You just have to know how to construct simple sentences together.

You can do that, right?

Then fear ye not.

Q: Don’t I need to become a sales expert to help my clients write good emails?

Short answer: NO!

Longer answer: In the real sense of it, the duty of the emails you write is not to make a sale.

About 90% of the emails you write will have a link.

And those links are meant to take people outside of the inbox.

The selling will happen on the website of the clients you write for.

So your main role is to get people to click those links.

And to do that, you just need to get people to read the first line of your email, and the next, and the next…

Until you have led them to that link where they should click.

And good news, you don’t need to be a sales expert to get people reading from one line to the next.

Conclusion: you don’t need to be a sales expert to write good emails.

Q3: How do I know what to write for clients’ emails?

A: Through asking questions.

The technical name is research.

You first have to find out more about your client’s audience…

You will learn about their offer…

You will find out more about the clients themselves.

When you know all of these things, what to say in your emails becomes as easy as insulting bobrisky online.

And inside the ECT program, I detailed how to do a thorough research to make your task of writing emails easier.

Q4: What's the difference between learning email copywriting and general sales copywriting?

A: This is actually a very smart question.

Here's the thing…

Email copywriting can be considered to be the lowest hanging fruit when it comes to profiting as a copywriter.

It's something you can learn in an incredibly short amount of time and start to profit from in no time.

Whereas it can take you a really lengthy amount of time to master the full gamut of sales copywriting, you can become a really solid email copywriter in less than a month -- that's if you put in the effort.

So, if profiting from a skill fast is something you want, then email copywriting is your best bet.

But if you have the time and are not really in a hurry to bag the dough, then you can go ahead and learn the full 100 yards of sales copywriting.

Q5: How fast can I learn email copywriting?

A: It's been over a year since I started email copywriting and I'm still learning.

I learn new things every day.

If you want to know how fast you can learn to write emails that get people to take action.

Then the answer varies because not everyone would be willing to put in the work needed.

But , if you can write 2-3 emails daily for a month, I would say you have learned the basics and you should start writing for other people.

Q6: How easy is it to get clients

A: This depends on how good you are.

If you are confident that you're good then with the right guidance.

It shouldn't be difficult to land your first clients.

Disclaimer: I know copywriters who started the same time with me and haven't gotten any paying clients.

And have seen people who started copywriting and landed their first client within a month. ( I know of someone who got a client 5 days into his copywriting career)

The difference between these people is that one had proper guidance, and the other decided to learn by themselves.

That's all for today,

Hope this answers some of the questions on your mind.

If you still have more questions send them to me.

I would try to answer them and anyone I can't answer with an email we'd book a call and I'll answer it.
