Back then, when I knew very little about TikTok influencer marketing.

I will usually hit up any random TikTok creator with thousands of followers for Ads.

And every time I do this, I either end up generating zero leads or the most annoying set of leads you can ever find online.

What was I doing wrong?

Simple: I believed I could promote my product using just any kind of TikTok influencer that comes my way.

Unknown to me, there are certain criteria an influencer must meet before he/ she can be considered by an advertiser.

Some of them include:

• Quality of content.
• Number of followers.
• Average number of views.
• Amount of comments received on each video.

You don't just work with any kind of influencers. There are even influencers you shouldn't consider for Ads at all. Examples are skit makers.

Took me losing 300,000 naira to figure all of this out.
