As a newbie affiliate marketer, I was made to believe that… 

Showing my product to the crowd is all that is needed to make a killing selling online.

“It didn’t matter who they were… What they do… OR If they're a good fit for my product…?

“Just generate leads. And your business would blossom.”

That was the kind of dream that was sold to me as a newbie.

I believed this to be true until this happened…

A quick backstory:

In 200L, my dad sent me my house rent.

Instead of me renewing my rent as instructed.

A voice whispered to me:

“Why not invest this in Ads, double the money, make a few sales & thereafter, pay your house rent”.

That would sound like a good idea to anybody.

I swung into action. I approached two WhatsApp TVs. Both billed me 30k each.

It was fair considering that they both had about 14k combined views. 

The payment was made. And as agreed…

They posted my Ads on their WhatsApp status.

Leads marched into my DM like soldiers mobilized for war. The turnout was great.

In less than 7 days, I added 900+ new contacts on WhatsApp.

Little did I know my excitement was going to be short-lived.

Despite my efforts to nurture these leads. I recorded zero sales. Even to this day. Maybe they’ll buy it tomorrow. lol

After the whole charade, my investigation revealed something daring.

The WhatsApp TV that promoted my offer used to run adverts for Yahoo Boys.

Therefore, the leads I generated were Yahoo boys or intending Yahoo boys.

You see… When it comes to running ads. Do not be carried away by the number of people you would get. The quality of the leads is equally important.
