How To Beat down the prices of TikTok Influencers.

The worst thing you can say to an influencer during negotiation is this: "Your fees are expensive".


Automatically, she will get defensive. And nothing you say afterwards will force her to offer her services at a discount.


But this is exactly how 90% of advertisers negotiate with TikTok influencers.


The result: They hit a roadblock every time they're supposed to work with quality TikTok influencers.


However, if you stick with me until the end of this email, you'll learn how to beat down the prices of these influencers without being confrontational.


Last week, a TikTok influencer who billed me 100,000 naira for a job eventually charged 50,000 naira. How did I do it? You'll know in a second.


Whenever I'm negotiating with TikTok influencers, the conversation usually flows like this:


INFLUENCER: I charge 100k Naira for a video & I'll keep your link on my bio for 7 days.

ME: Okay, thanks for the feedback. Judging by your engagements, your brand is worth the 100k you asked for. But can you in any way review the price?

INFLUENCER: What do you mean?

ME: I'm asking if you can reduce that amount.

INFLUENCER: Okay. How much is your budget?

ME: Thank you very much. How I wish I had the 100k you asked for, I would have paid right away. But my budget right now is between 30k-40k. If this campaign goes well, next time, I'll increase my budget. But for the relationship's sake, let's start from somewhere. 

INFLUENCER hmmm... This is too low. But like you said, let's build our relationship from somewhere. But, can you make it 50K?

ME: Okay. No problem is good. Let's roll. Thank you.


Suppose the influencer rejects my offer. I would say, "Thanks for the feedback. but hope I can always reach out to you some other time?"


Voila. Works like magic.


This is just one of the different ways to beat down the prices of influencers.
