At the junction leading to my house. I saw a signboard that I'd never seen before.

That was shocking considering that I've always plied that route for the past 4 years.

"How come I've never seen this before?"

Fast forward to 2 days later, that signboard would eventually lead me to painfully cough out 23k; an expense I never planned for.

Thinking about it now, I think I was jazzed.

Was I truly jazzed? we shall see.

This signboard I'm talking about belonged to a bookstore. And as a lover of books, I decided to check out the store.

I had no intention of buying books. I just wanted to identify where the store was located.

And I communicated this to the storekeeper at the door.

"Hello, Madam... I saw your signpost at the junction & I just wanted to know where this is" ..... I turned back to leave. JOB DONE!!!

Then she beckoned on me... "Why not come inside to see some of the books we've got?"

The storekeeper a young lady in her early twenties allowed me in. She acted friendly & allowed me to observe the books on the shelves.

Even though she knew I wasn't going to buy.

[And truth be told, I didn't need to buy new books at that point. Because I have got a lot in my library that I'm yet to read.]

After a while, I decided it was time to leave.

On my way out, she insisted that we exchange contacts. And immediately, she messaged me on WhatsApp.

And that was the end of our interaction.

2 days later, I was back in that store to buy books worth 20k.

For someone who promised not to buy more books until I finished reading the ones my shelf

That was a miracle!!!!

I bought books I wouldn't be reading anytime soon.

Was I jazzed? OR did the storekeeper simply apply some closing tricks on me?

These questions couldn't leave my mind after I made the purchase.
