Blame my sister

How you doing today,
I got some replies to yesterday's mail.
Where I talked about the 3 things you need to focus on as a newbie email copywriter.
Some people wanted to know how to learn how to write emails that crawl into your customer's head and get them to take action. ( i swear someone wrote those exact words)
While reading through some of the replies.
I decided instead of answering each person at a time I would just answer the questions here.
Well, that was the plan for today's email…
But like all great plans they change ( I'd be explaining why soon).
I already made up my mind that I would write about it in today's email.
But a conversation I had with my little sister changed my mind.
So you can blame her
While eating dinner at home yesterday.
My kid sister said she remembered when I used to read novels every day and night.
What fun times back then…
Sardine was still #150.
What's so special about what she said that interrupted my plans to impact you with valuable knowledge.
Because if not for those times…
I doubt I would be where I am today.
Probably wouldn't be writing this email to you if I wasn't so obsessed with reading back then.
Because reading all those novels…
Helped me cultivate the habit of reading for up to 4 hrs without being bored.
Which is very difficult to do today.
You ask someone to read a book or watch a course today,
They'd tell you they can't because it is boring.
They can't sit down for 30 minutes to read.
One thing I noticed while studying great copywriters is that they read a lot.
They read books on copywriting and marketing.
They read blogs, and articles related to their market.
They read a lot when carrying out research to understand their customers' hopes, dreams, and fears (very important).
They make reading part of their day-to-day activities.
When I noticed this it was very easy for me to integrate this into my life.
Because I was already used to reading.
So , the million dollars question.
Are you willing to carve out an hour of your precious time every day to read?
- Books on Copywriting and marketing.
- Articles and blogs related to your niche.
- To understand their customers' hopes, dreams, and fears.
Talk soon.
Benson
PS: My tomorrow email would discuss how to get good at writing emails so set your reminder by 10 am tomorrow.
Also if you're like me who reads daily then I've compiled 3 books on copywriting and marketing.
But
I wouldn't be giving it out for free.
If you want to get access to them.
Reply to the email with a lesson you learned from the video I shared last week.
