Saturday 17th October 2026 7:30-9:45pm approx
Bedford Corn Exchange
You're invited!
You are invited to join us at the first concert of the Bedfordshire Orchestral Society’s exciting 60th Anniversary season. Over the coming months we will be performing all nine of Beethoven’s symphonies to mark the 200th anniversary of his death, culminating next May with the magnificent Choral Symphony. You can earn a 20% discount on all six concerts by buying a season ticket, but be sure to book by the end of October!
We begin on October 17th when Bedford Sinfonia kicks off this very special season with a spectacular opening concert, including Beethoven’s First and Second Symphonies, as well as Haydn’s last symphony.
Haydn composed his 104th symphony at around the time Beethoven was making the first sketches of his own first symphony. Beethoven’s style owed much to Haydn (who was, for a time, his tutor), and so the classical torch was passed from one generation to the next.
We would love to see you for the beginning of this epic adventure through some of the most influential and enjoyable music ever written.
