Hello!
Everyone else is looking back over the past year... here, we're already looking ahead to 2026.
We have a gem of a concert coming up for you in January.
For the first time, we have a programme of all female composers and we are going to be celebrating them in style.
There's a real excitement when you discover a new piece or composer - and for me it's the stories behind that fascinate.
Fanny Mendelssohn wasn't just Felix Mendelssohn's sister, she was an incredible pianist and wrote over 460 pieces of music - with the majority published under her brother's name. Truly a hidden genius and we're now able to discover her talents here in Bedford and share them with you.
Please note that this concert is at All Saints Church. The Corn Exchange is underdoing a major renovation programme in January and February 2026, so we're finding new spaces for our winter concerts. All Saints has wonderful accoustics and is exceptionally cosy - we're looking forward to welcoming you there.
You're invited!

BSO November Concert Review
Many thanks to those of you who came to our sell-out concert a few weeks ago in the Corn Exchange. It was wonderfully busy with a greaqt buzz and lots of families enjoying the concert. Our Meet and Greet with the brass section during the interval was another success. Huge thanks to Ben, Julia and Luke who made that possible! We heard afterwards that a little boy who spoke to Julia went into school and asked if he could start learning the trumpet! That made our year here at BOS!
You might not have seen the review in the Bedford Independent, written by Elias, one of our Youth Ambassadors, who is hoping to join BSO very soon on the violin and doing his Duke of Edinburgh Award with us by helping me with writing articles and joining our Youth Ambassador's team! Thank you, Elias for a fabulous article and congratulations on your first press article!

From our friends:
Bedford Choral Society with Ian Smith have their Christmas concert at the Corn Exchange coming up next Saturday. With lots of lovely carols to get you into the Christmas mood!
It's back! The Bedford Charity Concert in aid of Emmaus Village Carlton is back in early 2026 and tickets are already selling quickly. This event always sells out (in fact, 20 people were turned away at the door one year!), so get your tickets soon. Many of our BOS members participate and this time, the North Beds Youth Chamber Orchestra is also featuring. What a great line up!
