Message from Ann for Publicity: A huge thank you for all your ticket selling successes!

You smashed it again and we nearly sold out completely!

The Corn Exchange was packed on Saturday and we only had a handful of tickets left on the door, meaning that we sold approx 420 tickets. We had 44 children there too, which is fabulous. This marks the culmination of your efforts over this last year and now this year, we need to embed this and make it our new normal!

I'd like to particularly thank all those in BSO who worked really hard and sold lots of tickets to friends and family and to the many who have distributed flyers and shared posts on social media and talked about our concert near and far. Every conversation counts - every ticket counts.

I can’t give you the exact figures yet, but I’m confident that we brought in significantly more than £5200 (what it cost to put on the concert) and therefore actually made a profit!  With the Corn Exchange out of action in January and February 2026, we were under pressure to make a big dent with this BSO concert into our ticket sales target for this season and we have done it! Thank you!

This success is not only important for our cash flow for this season but also signals to potential donors that we are financially viable - and therefore worth supporting!  It’s a vital corner to turn!

We've got another reason to celebrate: one of our Youth Ambassadors, Elias, who is hoping to join BSO soon as a violinist, has written a fabulous review of our BSO concert, which I will be sharing on social media and sending to Bedford Independent. It's wonderful to have our Youth Ambassadors so engaged! He's using the experience to contribute to his Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Thank you, Elias!

Our Youth Ambassadors are drawn from NBYCO - if you have a son or daughter who plays with NBYCO and would like to get involved in the Front of House Team, let me know. They give out programmes on the door and meet and greet our audience. We'll be putting together a team for the Sinfonia concert in January soon.

Thanks so much to you all and congratulations!

Best wishes

Ann

Committee News: Post-concert questionnaire for BSO:

If you rehearsed and played in the BSO concert this Saturday, you will be receiving a feedback questionnaire from the Committee asking you to reflect on the work we have done as an orchestra together this term and the concert itself. If you don't receive this in the next day or so, and have expected to, please let us know via the [email protected] address.

Please also watch out for it in your spam - it will come from the chair email address.
