Dear All

It's holiday time this week and next across BOS!

We're looking forward to our Spring/Summer concerts, which are just around the corner! You'll see below that there is some info from Bjorn and Ian that you need for those.

But mostly these two weeks are all about having a break... we'll be back with the next newsletter in two weeks time when Sinfonia are straight into rehearsing and BSO continue...

For those celebrating, Happy Easter, and to all, have a great bank holiday weekend!

From Ann

On behalf of the Committee

Rehearsals: NO REHEARSAL this week or next - SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Message from Bjorn: Here are the bar numbers for the whole Bruckner. Each letter is its bar number TO CHECK THAT YOU DON’T GET OUT WHEN COUNTING.

I appreciate this is some extra time but the time saved in rehearsal is exponential!

Sinfonia Information:

Message from Ian:

Thank you to all the players of the Sinfonia who played so magnificently on Saturday. The ensemble, dynamic range and whole atmosphere of the Verdi was outstanding.

Here is a short extract from a thank you letter from the Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire following the concert:

“Please would you pass on my warmest congratulations to the choir. They are clearly highly accomplished and their delivery of such a demanding and powerful work was exceptional.

I would also be most grateful if you could convey my sincere admiration and thanks to the musicians of the Bedford Sinfonia. Their talent and musicality were outstanding and a real joy to listen to.”

Susan Lousada, Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire

Also, just to confirm the rehearsals for 2 May concert:

14 April strings only

21 April, 28 April, 30 April full

The music covered will include a Vivaldi double cello concerto, Bach’s third orchestral suite, Atys by Lully and Purcell music for the Double Dealer, or Abdelazar and the Chaconne.
