We are definitely living in uncertain times. As you know recently the house voted to cut Medicaid. Many of our older adult family member rely on Medicaid or possible long term Medicaid. The thought of any cut is definitely a right to be concerned about. Add to that the thoughts the government has of cutting food stamps and Social Security as well. That would definitely hit home for me as my dad currently gets both.
As a social worker we have a term we use called "Safety Planning". Well we all need to start safety planning with our finances. It is okay to acknowledge your feelings, concerns and anxieties regarding our current economic climate.
