Your Secret Has Been opened!

Hello #smartbusinessowner .

How are you doing today?

Welcome to my email.

Today, I will be sharing with you how a simple mistake can sabotage your business secret.

Every Business has a trade secret.

It is a piece of commercially sensitive and confidential information that is not yet known to the public and which confers a competitive advantage on the owner.

It is more like the mojo that keeps you separated in the market.

Think of Coka Cola for example.

It is only the family that knows the real mixture of the drink.

Not even the CEO of the company over the years has been privileged with that information.

For hundreds of years, the family has kept that secret a secret.

Some other viable brands too have succeeded at maintaining such a high level of secrecy in their businesses.

Your Trade secret is an important aspect of your aspect of intellectual property.

Which makes it an IP instrument.

But the problem is that this type of IP doesn't require formal registration...

The trade secret of a company does not need to be registered with any regulatory body.

It is internally regulated and protected by the company or founder as the case may be.

But this secret can become open and common knowledge through the mistake of "oversharing".

I see a lot of founders give out their business secrets all in the name of content creating and marketing.

If in your bid to create content, you overshare and give out hints or outright information about your Business secret you will be shooting yourself in the leg.

And if someone goes ahead to use that information to create competition against you or replication of your solution, you would have lost hold of your trade secret and will not be able to get it back.

This is because a piece of information that is already in the public domain is no longer a trade secret.

So, for your trade secret to remain a secret, you must not disclose it to the public or "Unwanted parties".

A trade secret remains one so far as it is not disclosed to members of the public.

I hope you got value from this?
