Hello , let me share a little but very helpful info about Trademark with you today.
Do you know that trademarking your brand product or service does not actually prevent copying?
No...
it doesn't .
It only sets you apart so that your customers can easily find you.
Trademark helps build the KLT factor (know, like, and trust) for your brand by making it easy for people to recognize you from several other similar options easily.
It keeps your brand registered in people's mind.
A quick example is indomie and other noodles.
It's almost as if there are two types of noodles, indomie and others.
But guess what...
no matter how many noodles are released into the market, none can be called "indomie".
That trademark is secured and not free for use.
So trademarking your brand name does not actually restrict or prevent people from doing what you are doing, it prevents them however from passing off their products as if they were yours.
Or passing off your products as if they were theirs.
And in the case of any unauthorized use of your trademark, you have the legal right to sue and make a lot of money too.
so...
A trademark protects the name marks, logo, colours, etc that uniquely identifies your product and services and sets it apart from the rest.
Trademark registration is also one of the legal tools that you can use to protect your company's assets.
Please note that it is not about using "™" on your product or service, you must actually do a trademark registration before you can be protected.
