Are You A Tech Founder?

As a tech founder, here are things to keep in mind...
1. Secure your IP. In a Tech business, your IP is most likely the real business. if you lose it, you have lost the business.
This is why you must make sure that your IP is protected early on in the business.
In fact, I tell my clients that it is wrong for you to start pitching your Idea if you have not secured your intellectual property.
It makes you unnecessarily vulnerable.
2. Have a Non-disclosure agreement whenever necessary. This is one way to keep your idea safe and ensure that your business secret doesn't get out into the wrong hands.
3. Make sure that you have all the necessary agreements handy.
Agreements such as...
founders/shareholders Agreement.
Intellectual Property Assignment Agreement (IPAA)
Software Developer Agreement
are a no-brainer for you as a founder.
4. Trademark your brand name early enough.
5. Make sure that your developers transfer IP to the Company. this is to give the company the right of ownership to the products they have developed.
If you don't do this, the developer can in the future claim right of ownership of the product he built for the company.
6. Get your business a startup lawyer who understands how some of these things work for your business.
