Just got off the phone with the founder of a startup and I just realized that even Founders can find themselves in an abusive and toxic relationship with their co-founders.
Yes, you read that right,
I’ve always said that building a startup with your Co-founder is like entering into a marital relationship.
You know what they say,
If you can’t trust them, don’t marry them.
If they don’t respect you, don’t settle.
The same thing applies to when you are building a business with other people
There are red flags.
Watch out for red flags and don’t even start the relationship in the first place.
So your Co-founder is the startup financier and he is showing you a premium shege even threatening to kick you out of your own company but you remain there because you feel you have invested so much into building the business.
It’s exactly what happens in most abusive Marriages, the signs have always been there, and they have zero regard for your time and for you but you are still stuck and hoping things get better.
There is a way out, there are strategies for building amidst uncertainties.
Come and learn these strategies, interact, and network with other founders like you at the Sprout by BL Live event holding in Lagos next month.
On the 23rd of February 2024, my team and I will be hosting 100 founders in one room where we will share strategies on how to ensure business continuity.
Beyond legal, we will share actual business strategies from experienced founders so you can have a soft landing while building yours.
The event is free but registration is compulsory.

P.S. We are making plans for only 100 people so the earlier you grab your seat the better for you.
