and changing things.
I feel like I'm finally over Covid. I managed to clean out a raised bed yesterday and was fine, so whoo hoo! Granted I was supposed to work on the next bed today, but rain. I may be okay but I didn't feel like I needed to push my luck by working outside in cold rain. Next weekend I'll try to get three of the beds cleared and poke my friend about my need for manure. Worst case I'll get her to drive me to pick some up. She has a big dual truck and can tow my trailer fully loaded, I don't.
Mostly I'm busy making plans for the future. I do best when I have things to look forward to and it keeps me striving for them. When everything is confirmed I'll share them but I can say it is about travel.
I'm back to writing. Still lagging a bit, but the story is ticking along. The weather is FINALLY nice and I'm having to resist going outside and enjoying it instead of working. The struggle is real.
I've agreed to do a new project that will launch next year, so that has me doubling down on my writing to get it and the next two Twisted Luck novels done asap. I'll let you know as soon as I can start sharing. Expect April or May next year. (Why yes I'm planning like crazy, I plan to still be writing when I'm eighty!)
But for now I need to get back to chores, story, and plotting. I'll leave you with a few shinies to distract you.
Vallejo Road is part sci-fi, part thriller, and completely interesting. A heretic on the run, her daughter taken, and a world where those with powers must serve. It might be an interesting read.
I inhaled every Arthur story out there as a teenage, and I still enjoy a well written one. The Secret of Excalibur is a free first in series that sets Arthur on his quest in modern times. It does have a romance thread to it, but I'll put up with a lot for a good adventure.
That is it for this week, so I'll leave you with a story. I've planned on writing a bunch of holiday novellas, but time has been lacking. Enjoy this anyhow.
Cath Motivation
Carelian peeked out of my suitcase. "You can come with me, but you are not riding in there," I stated firmly. "We are going to see Jo's mom. Remember Marisol? You like her."
His green eyes closed. ~Malkin?~
"Jo's yes. But I need to put my clothes in there. Not you. You'll be in your carry bag?" I reached out to pet him. He was so small. Barely eight pounds, but considering a month ago he'd been four pounds he was growing fast.
~Go?~
"In a bit. Now out." I reached out and picked up the red furred Cath and dumped him on the bed. We were headed up to the Guzman's for Thanksgiving and Sable was coming with us. So much had change din the last two months. But looking at the kitten now playing with my rolled up socks on my bed, I couldn't complain.
It took me an hour to pack, mainly because everything I turned around he was in the suitcase. It became a game for both of us, and I was giggling and exasperated by the time I was done.
"You ready to go, Cori?" Jo asked from the door. Her hair would take years to get back to it's length prior to the SEC game. It was about two inches long now and she was totally playing up the butch look. It was adorable. Sable thought so too.
"Just about. Carelian wants to help with my packing." I pointed at the Cath who once again was in my luggage.
Jo grinned, and I didn't blamer her, he was so blasted cute peeking out with those brilliant green eyes.
"Hmm, I bet he should go grab his stuff. I mean he wants to sleep with his blanket right? Besides, Mami has been making special food for him. Something about a salmon tartar."
Both ears perked up. ~Salmon? Eat?~
"Yep. But first we have to pack and get there." Jo's mouth was twitching as she fought a smile.
~Salmon!~ With a streak of red Carelian was out of the suitcase and headed for his favorite blanket.
We both laughed. "I guess we better warn Mami of the salmon addict headed her way."
"Yep." We grinned and I quickly finished packing. Thanksgiving would be interesting this year.
He is adorable. Someday a novel (or novella) from his point of view. If you haven't read Shattered, don't forget to grab it.
